Bakelite sheets are manufactured by using multiple layers of kraft paper properly treated with phenolic resin. These laminates are used as insulation material and they are classified on the basis of their electric properties & water absorption.

Bakelite laminate paper-based sheet is made of insulating impregnated paper soaked in hot pressed phenolic resin. It has High mechanical and electrical properties. The product is used to make insulating structural components in motors and electrical equipment with high mechanical performance, and can be used in transformer oil.
